Hi: I have recently re install FS9 and remembered that a patch (originated by Microsoft) was necesary to install to fix some issues. I would need to know were can I download this patch, please. Apr 13, 2019 In Windows 10, find the Flight Simulator 9 folder in C:Program Files (x86)Microsoft Games Rename it Flight Simulator 9 old Find and copy the Flight Simulator 9 folder from the Windows 7 hard drive, then paste it into the above folder on Windows 10. Takes about 40 mins to complete. Click it, in there you'll find Microsoft Flight Sim 2004, BUT I also found in the 'folder' 'Safe Mode' ( with the Microsoft Flight Sim 2004 icon alongside it ). Click on 'Safe Mode'. MS now opened, with the top and bottom menu bars visible; but it worked normally! I then shut down, restarted and opened MS FS 2004 using my usual short cut. This new version on DVD-ROM for FSX/FS2004 is also fully compatible with Windows Vista and the Flight Simulator Microsoft Flight Simulator X SDK Download send us an update The development kit for Flight Simulator X from Microsoft surely needs the latest update to keep you working with the best tools. The Microsoft Flight Simulator Team is pleased to announce a product update for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2004: A Century of Flight. In response to customer feedback and Product Support information, the Update will address a series of enhancements and content updates.
FS9 is now a very old Sim and like FSX, it will give some trouble whether in installation, activation, or launching it. However, some have had some measure of success, so I would suggest the following:
The Microsoft Flight Simulator Team is pleased to announce a product update for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2004: A Century of Flight. In response to customer feedback and Product Support information, the Update will address a series of enhancements and content updates. Flight Simulator 2004: A Century of Flight celebrates the 100th anniversary of the first flight by adding nine historical aircraft — ranging from the Wright Flyer to the Douglas DC-3 — as well as recreations of famous flights such as Lindberg’s Atlantic crossing.
a. first try logging in as Administrator? If you don't know how, then find your executable file (fs9.exe or FS2004.exe) in the FS9 directory and right click on it. Go to Properties > Compatibility and tick Run as Administrator and OK. Then see if FS9 launches.
b. If that doesn't do the trick, it could be that what you are experiencing is Win10 using its DRM blocking against some of these older games. The only fix available for this type of problem is to do the following (however, if this doesn't work, then I'm afraid that you will need to look at other replacement options for your Sim). The fix is:
1. Update FS9 to FS9.1 (if you haven't done so already), and you can get the update from:
https://flyawaysimulation.com/downloads/files/2795/flight-simulator-2004-update-v91/
However, if you prefer to not update your FS9 to FS9.1, I believe there is also a download option for that in the link below (entitled, Original No-CD Patch), but it hasn't been proven.
2. Then download the FS9 or FS9.1 No CD patch which allows FS9 to start without disk #4 being inserted into the drive. You can get this patch from:
https://flyawaysimulation.com/downloads/files/15244/microsoft-flight-simulator-2004-v91-no-cd-patch/
Once installed, load and attempt to launch the Sim from the instructions given. Hope this fix will help you.

Celebrating one hundred years of aviation.
First released on the Apple II in 1979 and the IBM PC in 1982, Flight Simulator has been around for more than thirty years. Though the “new features” list in this ninth entry in the venerable series is fairly short, virtually every aspect of this classic simulation has seen the usual refurbishing.
Along with the typical Flight Sim fare—the Learjet, Cessna 182S, and Boeing 737/747/777—the 24 flyable aircraft include classics such as the Spirit of St. Louis, Ford Tri-Motor, Lockheed Vega, and de Havilland Comet air racer. Surprisingly, given the focus of this edition, the Sopwith Camel (a staple found in the very first version) and F4U Corsair from the 2002 edition are missing, as is the Cessna 182RG.
The flight models of the built-in aircraft have been significantly improved, with the exception of the Cessna 172, a docile trainer in real life that can be a deathtrap in the sim. The updated modeling lets the Extra 300 aerobatic plane finally spin as realistically as in Flight Unlimited. For the first time in a Flight Sim game, helicopter controls are actually manageable. The Bell 206 JetRanger has been tamed, and the new Robinson R22 chopper is a great learning craft. The 3D models have been tweaked as well, with the new virtual cockpits boasting clickable controls.
Microsoft Flight Simulator 2004 Update
Air traffic control has been significantly tweaked as well. In mid-flight, you can file an instrument flight plan, request altitude or destination changes, or ask for a specific published approach. It’s not perfect, but it’s significantly better than before. You can finally learn from watching AI aircraft, as they fly more realistic patterns. Taxiing, both for you and the AI, has been improved, with taxiway markers added at major airports.
Those wondering where the “game” is in Flight Simulator won’t find an answer here. The challenge and entertainment comes from learning about flying, recreating historic flights, and tackling thr high tech gizmos that keep your virtual plane airborne.
